works of Maimonides.
The grave of Maimonides in Tiberias has been a place of Jewish pilgrimage for many years. The grave is still preserved and is located in the hilly section of the city. It is fenced about and guarded by a special sexton. A marble tablet at the gate describes Maimonides as the most important man in Jewish history since Moses.
