Police today started investigation of the vandalization of one of New York’s oldest synagogues–Congregation and Talmud Torah Adereth El. The synagogue, which will celebrate its 100th anniversary this year, was desecrated yesterday. Damage to the synagogue included the smashing of seats and stands and the tearing of prayer books, prayer shawls and phylacteries.
