For two consecutive days, unknown vandals profaned the Jewish cemetery at Nowy Dwor, near Warsaw, demolishing seventy tombstones. The perpetrators have not been discovered. Parts of the tombstones were found in the courtyard of a Christian woman, but she refused to testify, declaring she feared vengeance.
