Vandals broke into the offices of the Jewish Documentation Center here today and destroyed important files and records. They also smashed a typewriter with Hebrew characters–leaving untouched three typewriters with Roman characters–evidently to point up their anti-Semitic intent.
The Center is sponsoring the erection here of the Tomb of the Unknown Jewish Martyr, commemorating the memory of the 6,000,000 Jews annihilated by the Nazis. Recently, the organization also published a book exposing anti-Semitism rampant in France under the Vichy regime during World War II. The book had aroused considerable displeasure among French fascist elements.
