Vandals painted a swastika on a memorial in Nice, France, to a Jewish hero of the French Resistance. The desecration of the marble plaque honoring Raymond Fresco coincided with an event marking the anniversary of his death. Fresco was captured by the Nazis in November 1943, tortured for 15 days and executed when he refused to reveal any information.
