A fund of ten million kronen was voted by the Kehillah of Budapest for the widow of Wilhelm Vaszonyi, late Hungarian statesman and leader of the Liberal party.
Vaszonyi died in poor circumstances, it was learned, all of his income having gone for charitable purposes.
Vaszonyi died recently as a result of wounds received in an attack made upon him by members of the Awakening Magyars.
