A report published in newspapers abroad that more than 100 Jewish refugees have found employment in the Vatican library was denied here today in official Vatican circles.
It was pointed out that there are altogether not more than sixty people on the staff of the library. Some time ago two Jews were employed there temporarily; however, both of the men are now in other countries doing educational work, it was stated.
At present there are three women of Jewish descent temporarily employed in the Vatican library for cataloguing. Two of them are Catholics and one is a Protestant. One person of Jewish descent is employed at present in the Vatican museum.
