Karl Brandt, Hitler’s personal physician, and ?x other Nazi doctors were today sentenced to death by an American military tribunal ?r crimes against humanity and sadistic experiments on human beings. Thousands of ?ncentration camp prisoners, including many Jews, died as a result of the experiants.
Five doctors received life sentences, four prison terms ranging from 15 to ? years, and seven were acquitted. Among the physicians and scientists sentenced ? the gallows was the chief doctor at the Buchenwald death camp and Heinrich Himmer’s physician. Herta Oberhauser, only woman defendant and a doctor at the Ravens?rueck camp for women, received a 20-year term, The trial lasted nine months.
