The jury considering the case of George A. Bright, 31-year-old member of a Jewish hate organization, charged with participation in the bombing of The Temple here last October 12, was locked up in a hotel today waiting to resume deliberations tomorrow morning.
At 11:50 last night, Judge Durwood Pye informed the jury that Georgia law forbade their reaching a verdict on Sunday. The case went to the jury only 50 minutes earlier, after Bright denied any connection with the dynamiting. During his lengthy prerogation, Bright asserted he was being “persecuted” for his “segregation” and “Christian” beliefs. He specifically denied he was anti-Jewish.
