Charging that the government did not take sufficient measures to protect Jewish citizens during the disturbances in connection with the showing of the American talking picture, “All Quiet on the Western Front,” the official organ of the Jewish War Veterans Association complains that timely orders by the police to reestablish order were not issued.

Pointing out that even persons who looked like Jews were abused, the War Veterans’ paper says that if the government does not protect the Jews because they form only 550,000 of the electorate while the National Socialists number 6,500,000 then the state is undermining its own ethical basis.
