An exchange program between the Vienna Symphony and Israeli Symphony orchestras is being mapped out, according to Mrs. Gertrude Sendner, vice mayor of Vienna and the city’s commissioner for cultural affairs.
She said that in the first stage of the exchange, a young Vienna concert-master will go to Israel in exchange for a young Israeli concert-master who will come to Vienna. This exchange will begin next January. During the 1970 season. Mrs. Sendner said, it is also hoped to exchange guest performances. In 1972, the Vienna Symphony will leave on its second tour of Israel.
