Vice President Al Gore departed for a four-day trip to the Middle East. In Israel, Gore is slated to engage for the first time in direct Israeli- Palestinian peace negotiations and to participate as the U.S. representative in the Jewish state’s jubilee celebrations. He is also expected to visit the West Bank town of Ramallah, Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
