The five-day biennial convention of the National Council of Jewish Women closed here tonight with an address by Vice-President Hubert H. Humphrey and the election of Mrs. Leonard Weiner of Huntington Woods, Mich, as president.
The Vice-President, who called for a special effort to tap “America’s most significant underrealized resource,” — womanpower, presented Mrs. Joseph Willen, the outgoing NCJW president, with an award for service from the Office of Economic Opportunity. The award, signed by Mr. Humphrey and Sargent Shriver, head of the OEO, cited Mrs. Willen for “significant contribution of new economic opportunity for the people of this nation.”
