Apparently facing difficulties in extending the French anti-Jewish laws to the 110,000 Jews of Algeria, Xavier Vallat, the Commissioner for Jewish Affairs of the Vichy Government, is proceeding shortly to Algeria, it was learned here today.

“The Jewish problem in Algeria constitutes a very delicate question. I therefore intend to study it on the spot,” Vallat is today reported as having stated upon his return this week from Paris.
