Vichy to Void Citizenship Obtained by Aliens by Joining Army

The Vichy Government has decided to void the citizenship of all alien Jews who received naturalization papers on joining French armed forces after the start of the war, reliable reports reaching here today said.

The reports added that the Nazis were conducting an anti-Jewish campaign in France, showing anti-Semitic motion pictures, dealing with alleged ritual murders, in cinemas in Paris and other cities.

Most business concerns in the Jewish quarter of Paris are still closed down, it was learned. Returning Jewish refugees are unable to find work.

Herr Eichmann, attached to the German Gestapo, is expected to arrive in Paris soon to supervise repatriation of Dutch, Belgian and Jewish refugees.

The Petain-Laval Government, meanwhile was reported to have barred Jews from high Communist.

Twenty journalists were arrested, according to a German wireless report from Vichy, because they were “active in Vichy in favor of the former British alliance partner.” The report added that “their expulsion from Vichy and the Department Allier does not mean that they will be released from arrest in other departments.
