George Dehan, former official of the Vichyite Commissariat on Jewish Questions who was found guilty by a Bordeaux court of turning over 400 French Jews to the Gestapo during the war, was sentenced to death, it was reported here yesterday. Most of the 400 Jews seized by the Nazis on Dehan’s initiative were either executed by the Vichy militia or deported to Nazi death camps in Poland.
