Victims of hate crimes joined civil rights organizations to launch a Web site that calls for passage of hate crimes legislation now pending in the U.S. House of Representatives. The site, www.unitedagainsthate.org, is intended to mobilize grassroots efforts to persuade Congress to strengthen the current hate crimes law and to extend them to cover crimes motivated by a victim’s sexual orientation, gender or disability.
