Victor Shulman, Noted Jewish Journalist and Socialist Leader, Dies in Canada

Victor Shulman, noted journalist and one of the leading figures in the Jewish Socialist Bund in Poland, died on a farm near here where he was spending his vacation. He was 75 years old.

Born in Vilkomir, Lithuania, he joined the Jewish revolutionary movement in Czarist Russia in his early youth. He was later exiled to Siberia whence he succeeded in escaping abroad. Since 1915 he resided in Warsaw, holding the post of managing editor of the Jewish Socialist daily newspaper “Volkszeitung.” During the Nazi invasion of Poland he escaped to Lithuania and was among the political refugees who were permitted to enter the United States in 1940.
