The London Lancet in its current issue confirms the startling reports that have been made concerning the prowess of the Jewish athlete of Vienna, Sigismund Breitbart.
According to a report printed in the Lancet, a committee of physicians, engineers, smiths and athletes have verified that Breitbart is able to sever with his teeth iron and steel chains one fifth of an inch thick. The committee also say Breitbart can bend iron rods half an inch square into a sphere, a rail four inches thick by two and a half inches. The Lancet report says the committee is satisfied that no trickery is resorted to.
Breitbart is a native of Lodz, Poland. He is 31 years old, six feet three inches tall and weighs 210 pounds. He is a modest looking man and his appearance does not give the impression of possessing such exceptional strength.
The Jewish athlete’s performances on the Vienna stage are witnessed by packed houses, tickets being purchased several days in advance of the performances.
