Abraham Singer, editor of “Iscult Pressedienst,” semi-official new service of the Vienna Jewish Community, was fined 800 schillings (Approx. $30) today for having compared the Austrian newspaper “Wiener Montag” with Julius Streicher’s “Der Stuermer.”
The judge admitted that Wiener Montag had published articles with anti-Semitic tendencies, but said the comparison with the Nazi newspaper was “untrue and misleading.” He also objected to Singer’s having written that Wiener Montag made money out of “Jew-baiting articles.”
