The municipality of Vienna today announced its intention of erecting a monument to Siegfried Marcus, Jewish inventor.
The monument is to be erected in the famous Karl Platz at the expense of the city. A committee of all faiths will be named to supervise this undertaking.
Marcus invented the first motor car in Austria. He was born in Mecklenburg in 1831 and died in Vienna in 1898.
