Viktor Fischl, a writer and diplomat, died Sunday in Jerusalem at 94. The Czech native began his career as a diplomat just before World War II, and during the war he was active in the Czechoslovak government in exile. In London, he wrote “The Dead Village,” responding to the Nazi destruction of Lidice in June 1942.
