The village board of trustees this week approved amendments to the zoning ordinances which will prevent the use of a 19-room house as a Jewish community center and leaders of the center project immediately charged that the amendments had been put through to keep the center out of the area.
About 200 residents of the village signed a petition supporting the amendment which bars clubs from residential areas in the village but would permit them in multiple dwelling areas.
