Violating their pledge of safe conduct to the Jewish students at the Vienna High School of Commerce who acceded to a request to vacate their classrooms, a band of Heimwehr students yesterday attacked their Jewish classmates, injuring seven, one seriously.

The trouble began when the students entered the lecture rooms and informed the professors that the Jewish students would have to be ousted. Putting up no resistance the Jewish students left on the promise of the Heimwehr students that safe conduct would be guaranteed. On the way out the Jewish students were set upon and badly beaten.

The school authorities maintain that they are powerless to do anything and instead of making it possible for the Jewish students to attend classes they have removed all Jewish students. Minor anti-Semitic disturbances also occurred at the Vienna University today.
