Virtually the entire Jewish population of Bologna, which was captured yesterday by Fifth and Eighth Army troope, was wiped out a little over a year ago, a Jewish Telegraphic Agency correspondent was told today.

Dr. Frank Patella, an American-born physician from New York City, who was stranded in Bologna at the outbreak of war with the United States, told the correspondent that the Germans rounded up all the Jews they could find, killed some and deported the rest, Dr. Patolla said that a few Jews may have found refuge in Catholic institutions, but he was not sure.
