Members of a ring who obtained money from refugees by promising them visas to Uruguay have been arrested In Montevideo, the office of the HIAS-ICA Emigration Association here was informed today.
The organisation was believed to have had agents in Europe who approached refugees offering them visas. The number of persons victimized by the ring’s activities was thought to be high since it was ascertained that one “agency” alone was in contact with more than 100 people.
