The 240 refugee passengers captured last week aboard the motor schooner “Orde Wingate” were released today from the Athlit clearance camp. The 733 from the “Tel Hai,” which was intercepted later in the week, will be released shortly.
Dr. Bernard Joseph, legal advisor to the Jewish Agency, disclosed at a press conference today that of the 4,500 immigration certificates granted by the Palestine Government for the period during which the Anglo-American inquiry committee was making its investigation, 3,000 have been deducted to cover visaless immigrants.
