Unless government consent to open bakeries for the baking of matzoth for the holiday is given, hundreds of Jewish residents of Vladivostok will be without matzoth this Passover.

More than 700 persons applied to the local Kehillah for matzoth. The authorities, however, refused to grant permission to the community to open bakeries. Since other facilities for baking are unavailable, the Jews have no way to provide themselves with matzoth.
