Holy smoke which ascended from the Moslem Holy City will put an end to further smoking, now that Mecca is under the reign of the Moslem puritans, the Wahabis.
The Wahabis have seized 100,000 narghiles and burned them on an auto-da-fe in the bazaar of Mecca, according to a report received here today. They have also prohibited further importation of tobacco, raw or manufactured, cigarettes or cigars, within the limits of the Holy City.
According to the doctrines of the Wahabis, the puritan sect of the Moslem faith, smoking is as great a sin as drinking.
