Chaim Ruben Horowitz, formerly of Poland and now residing in Tel Aviv, was arrested here today for attempting to blow the shofar, ram’s horn, at the ancient Wailing Wall, only remaining wall of the Temple. Horowitz is believed to be a Zionist Revisionist.
According to a ruling made by the international commission appointed by the League of Nations to draw up regulations for the Wailing Wall, after riots between Jews and Arabs had occurred there, the blowing of the shofar is forbidden.
Last year Aaron Zuckerman of Tel Aviv, also believed to have been a Revisionist, was arrested at the Wailing Wall for a similar offense.
