United Nations Secretary General Kurt Waldheim is expected to arrive here tomorrow from Damascus on his current tour of UN Installations in the Middle East. An announcement said he would meet with Premier Yitzhak Rabin, Foreign Minister Yigal Allon and Defense Minister Shimon Peres. He is also scheduled to call on President Ephraim Katzir and former Premier Golda Meir.
Waldheim was actually in Israel-held territory this afternoon. He crossed the cease-fire lines on the Golan Heights to visit UN head-quarters in Kuneitra which is still in Israeli hands. He inspected the first contingents of the new United Nations Disengagement Observers Forcs (UNDOF) which will occupy the buffer zone between Israel and Syria. The Secretary General said he was satisfied with the initial arrangements made for the work of UNDOF. He told reporters that Israeli POWs now held in Lebanon would be released this week. Waldheim said there was no political significance in the fact that he visited the Golan Heights from the Syrian rather than from Israeli lines.
