The appointment of Walter Eytan as Israel’s new Ambassador in Paris was officially announced here today. Mr. Eytan was the Director General of the Foreign Ministry since Israel’s establishment.
The appointment of the highest Foreign Ministry official to the Paris post underscores the importance which Israel attaches to her relations with France.
Mr. Eytan is replacing Yaakov Tsur, who was appointed Deputy Director General of the Ministry and is expected to be appointed Director General in the near future.
