Walter Orloff, Brooklyn Jewish medical student, is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was active in athletics, gaining distinction in this field. After his graduate from the University of Pennsylvania he went to Germany to study.

Early in June he was arrested while a student at the University of Greifswald and charged by the Nazis with being a Communist. This in Germany meant high treason. Finally the United States Consulate learned of his plight and intervened. The Nazis finally agreed to deport him without trial.
