‘wandering Jew’ Coming to Capitol

“The Wandering Jew,” Julius Hagen’s screen production from the late E. Temple Thurston’s play, will open at the Capitol Theatre as soon as the current picture finishes its run, it was announced yesterday.

The story is told in four episodes: Jerusalem on the day of the Crucifixion; Antioch in the time of the first Crusade; Palermo, Sicily, in 920; and Seville in 1560 during the days of the Inquisition.

Peggy Ashcroft, Anne Grey, Marie Ney and Joan Maude play the leading feminine roles. The male cast includes: Basil Gill, Francis L. Sullivan, Felix Aylmer and John Stuart. Maurice Elvey directed the picture, which is released by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Hugo Riesenfeld wrote the special musical score.
