Directions that his body be cremated and the ashes scattered towards the East were contained in the will of Henry Alexander, a Jewish Socialist who died here last October 11. Alexander wrote:
“Sprinkle my ashes towards the East, as a symbol of my faith in the return of my people to the land of Israel.”
Alexander made a number of bequests to Socialist organizations. His estate was valued at about $135,000.
