A wanted terrorist, who had been active in the Hebron area, was found dead in a cave near his village of Dura. An Arab shepherd who found the body reported to the police. An investigation identified the terrorist as Mahmoud Abu-Atwan, and determined that he was killed by explosives he was handling. Atwan was on the wanted list for over five years, since he appeared in the region, recruited groups and carried out acts of sabotage. Many of his aides were captured. The villagers in Dura helped him evade arrest by providing food and apparently shelter as well.
