The altering of the Zionist flag by the replacing of the Mogen David by the symbol of the Ten Commandments is urged by Abraham R. Gribov, a Zionist of this city.
Mr. Gribov contends, in a letter to the Baltimore Sun, that the “shield of David” being an emblem of unknown or uncertain origin and of no significance is not expressive of the history or thought of the Jewish people.”
“In the family of nations with their flags, when one is displaying a rampant lion, another a snake or an elephant or a fierce eagle, it is the historic prerogative of Israel among them to display the banner of Universal Peace, Law and Order and Morality”, writes Mr. Gribov.
“Amend the flag as proposed” says the Baltimorean and the nations will stand at attention before its unfurling with no less reverence than the Jewish people themselves.”
