Rabbi A.J. Kuk, one of the two leaders of the Palestine rabbinate, has requested Governor Storrs of Jerusalem to issue an order making Saturday the legal day of rest for the Jewish sections of the city. The Governor has promised Rabbi Kuk to take the matter under consideration.
The Rabbinical Office had also filed a similar demand with the authorities at Tel-Aviv, the Jewish municipality near Jaffe.
