Felix M. Warburg, noted Jewish philanthropist, appealed for contributions to the visiting nurse service of the Henry Street Settlement, of which he is the president at a luncheon meeting held on Thursday.

The visiting nurse service is holding a “silent campaign” for $200,000 required to continue its work

Mr. Warburg pointed out that the visiting nurse service was really doing the city’s work, as the city had undertaken to help care for the sick in their homes when the Home Relief Bureau was started. Acting Mayor McKee is sympathetic to the idea of having the nurse service re-imbursed for the thousands of calls to families receiving home relief, Mr. Warburg said, but this has not yet met with success.

Addresses were also delivered by Health Commissioner Shirley Wynne; William Hudson, executive director of the welfare counsel; Mrs. Joseph L. Lilienthal of the women’s committee and Marguerite A. Wales, chief of the service. Paul D. Cravath presided.
