The tensions and differences of opinion which exist in the American Jewish community today should not be permitted to interfere with the opportunity to finish the jobs we have undertaken in Europe and Israel,” the J.D.C. chairman said, in speech read for him by Benjamin B. Goldman, J.D.C. assistant secretary, Warburg declared that the J.D.C, would need $70,000,000 on 1949. More than 300 persons from nine southern states attended the conference.
