John Mihalache, new minister of the interior, was warned today by the local press to take measures to reestablish order in connection with the slackness of the police in arresting vendors of anti-Semitic publications which have been offered for sale on the principal streets of Bucharest in the last few days.
A minor scandal has been brewing because of police inactivity in halting the sale of these inciting publications. Pedestrians who have declined to purchase them have been insulted. The vendors of the anti-Semitic sheets, emboldened by the failure of the police to put a stop to the practice, ventured into the Calea Victoire. Some of the vendors have been arrested but were immediately released.
