It appears likely that the Warsaw City Council will reject the proposal, made at its session a few days ago, to concentrate the entire kosher killing of cattle in Warsaw as well as the sale of meats in the city abbatoir under the supervision of the municipality. If this proposal were to be carried out, it would mean ruin for the Jewish meat dealers.

Aldermanic President Slominsky today informed the Jewish Aldermen that this proposal is not practical, since it would lead to higher meat prices for the Christian population. He therefore expressed his belief that the proposal will not be adopted.

According to the law, every enactment by the City Council would have to be approved by the Minister of the interior before it becomes binding.
