Warsaw University and the Polytechnic Institute were closed today following serious anti-Jewish disturbances in connection with yesterday’s elections by the Polish Students’ Unions.

Twenty Jewish students were wounded, six of them seriously enough for hospitalization, in the clashes. Four were injured at Warsaw University, sixteen at the Institute.

Anti-Jewish signs in the Nazi manner made their appearance in Poland for the first time today outside villages in the vicinity of Czyzow, scene of recent disorders. The signs, posted at the entrances to the villages, read “Jews Not Admitted.”

Anti-Semitic agitation in that section is again assuming a dangerous character following release of Endek agitators from the Government concentration camp at Kartuz-Bereza. A Jewish delegation from Czyzew arrived in Warsaw today to demand the Government take adequate protective measures.
