The Warsaw Jewish daily, Moment, today sharply attacked the British government for preventing Polish Jewish tourists from visiting Palestine and suggested that the Polish government use the occasion of the forthcoming Polish British trade negotiations for the purpose of intervening for her Jewish citizens.
The Moment declared that the question is a Polish problem as well as a Jewish one in view of the fact that Polish citizens were refused visas to visit Palestine, because of their race and religion. The paper condemned the British government for attempting “mass” punishment of Polish Jews because of the actions of a few individuals in Palestine.”
Recently the British Consul in Warsaw refused to issue visas for a number of Polish Jewish tourists even though they had deposited the required sixty pounds with the consulate. At the same time all Christian applicants for visas received them.
