The 19th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Revolt will be commemorated Sunday at the Manhattan Center and on April 29.
Edward Drozniak, the Polish Ambassador, will address the April 22 meeting. Cantor Louis Danto and the Jewish Philharmonic Chorus will present a program of Ghetto songs. A Memorial candle ceremony also will be held. Another speaker will be Kalman Friedman, secretary of the American Council of Jews in Warsaw. The meeting is being sponsored by the Committee to Commemorate the 19th anniversary.
The April 29 meeting will be the 23rd annual Conference of the Council of Organizations of the United Jewish Appeal of Greater New York. Speakers will include Avraham Harman, Israeli Ambassador to the United States; U.S. Senator Jacob K. Javits and others. The ceremonies will include the lighting of a memorial candle by a survivor of each Nazi concentration camp. The gathering will include representatives of 7,000 fraternal organizations.
