Thousands of Jewish children have been deprived of Jewish education and more than 100 Hebrew teachers deprived of a livelihood by the action of the Warsaw authorities in closing Hebrew schools on the ground that sanitary regulations are being ignored.

A deputation of rabbis under the leadership of Rabbi Levin visited the Lord Mayor of Warsaw and asked him to permit the schools to stay open and allow them time to conform to the regulations. The authorities took the matter under advisement.
