Jewish communal affairs in Poland’s capital reached a deadlock which may be solved only by the intervention of the authorities as the budget commission failed to vote on the estimate for the year 1928.

The commission met yesterday for the second time to consider the various items proposed by the Kehillah Board. No agreement could be reached due to the insistence of the various parties represented on the committee to vote against the educational proposals of their opponents.

The Zionist delegates combined with the labor party delegates in voting against the proposal to allot a subvention to the chedorim, the Orthodox Jewish schools. The representatives of the Orthodox Agudath Israel combined with the labor celegates against the subvention to the Tarbuth schools, the Hebrew schools maintained by the Zionists.

The Agudists in turn combined with the Zionists in voting against a subvention to the Yiddish schools maintained by the labor group. The failure of the commission to pass on the budget prevents the Kehillah from carrying on its work. It was learned from reliable sources that it is possible the city authorities will intervene and dissolving the Kehillah board appont a government commissioner to st? ervise the work.
