All efforts to settle the strike between the various groups and factions in the Warsaw kehillah have failed and the Government had to be asked to intervene in determining the budget.

The last effort made to create a Left center bloc between the Zionists and the laborites, to enable the body to approve of the budget for the school needs of the Jewish population, was unsuccessful. The Executive Board then transmitted the proposed budget to the Ministry of Education and Religions for action.

Combining to form one congregation, the Orthodox and Reform groups in the Jewish Community of Joliet. Ill. dedicated their newly erected synagogue and community house on March 25.

The synagogue was erected at a cost of approximatly $175,000. It has an auditorium with a seating capacity of 500 people. A large gymnasium, stage, three large class rooms and kitchen.

Rabbi Felix A. Levy of Temple Emmanuel. Chicago, was the principal speaker at the dedication exercises. Joseph W. Mesirow presided.
