The president of the Warsaw Jewish Community, Mazur, was elected today as the only representative of the Kehillah at the forthcoming world Jewish conference in Geneva on August 14th.
A motion, proposed by the Zionists in the Kehillah, asking that the delegate be instructed to vote for the establishment of a world Jewish congress, was defeated.
The meeting also defeated the Zionist request for the appointment of a second delegate whereupon the Zionists left the meeting in protest.
Considerable speculation was aroused by the action of the Agudath Israel organization which itself rejected the invitation to participate in the conference, but whose representatives in the Kehillah voted for sending a delegate.
The Jewish Merchants Union also resolved to send a delegation to the conference and has resolved to summon a conference of all Jewish representatives in Geneva, for the purpose of formulating a program.
