A sharp campaign for the dismissal of the few Jews still remaining in the elementary school teaching system is being continued by the newspapers of the National Democratic (Endek) party.
The Gazeta Warszawska, chief organ of the anti-government party, yesterday demanded the establishment in Poland of a system of “ghetto schools” for Jewish children such as has been established in Austria in recent weeks.
The drive for dismissal of Jewish school teachers, of whom only a small number remain, is aimed at teachers formerly associated with the Jewish elementary Sabbath schools, who were transferred to the general school system when the Sabbath schools were dissolved.
The Polish Ministry of Education yesterday finally granted recognition to the Lubliner Yeshiva, Jewish educational institution at Lublin, granting students there the same benefits enjoyed by university students, including lower transportation rates on Polish railways.
